Coffee Label Entry No. 2

Here is my second entry for Joffrey's Coffee Art of the Label (Indonesia) contest, Morning Zen.
I have painted a number of Buddhas in the past and people seem to really respond to them. This particular guy is holding a cup, keeping in the theme of the contest, but I am taking orders for commissioned "personalized" Buddhas. You choose colors and what he's holding. Most will hold a lotus but you can pick a different type of flower...or a heart... The paintings measure 11" x 14". They are gallery wrapped with painted edges and ready to hang. $195 each (Free Shipping).

Commission Sketch

This is the final sketch for a possible upcoming collaborative commission with MG Stout.

I've just completed this commission for one of my collectors. The central figure represents her mother, the others her and her sisters. The painting will be given to her mother on Mother's Day.

Leader Of The Band

Just in time for delivery this weekend, I've completed the second of my two-painting commission. This one will go on to become a logo for the cabaret club it will call home. I was a bit stressed, wondering whether I would get it done in time, but it turned out one of my favorite pieces in a long time. I'm quite pleased.

China Machado is fierceness personified.

French Connection

I was commissioned to do this piece by a very fine gentleman as a gift for his wife and daughter. He requested French writing be an element of the painting.

Greetings from England!

I love it when clients send me photos of their Gascots.
I always refer to my paintings as living beings (him, her, he, she) and always talk to clients in terms of the pieces going to live with them. It may all sound a bit strange, but most people don't seem to mind.
It is because my paintings are like children I'm sending off into the world. A few collectors even refer to their purchases as "adopting" a Gascot. LOL

Val & Selden with "Zen"

Val had her eye on a Buddha print I have on Imagekind. When her sweetheart of a husband got wind of this he quickly contacted me and we schemed up a story about how I was going to be carrying the prints myself in a few weeks and would let her know when I had them to sell. Emails were flying back and forth simultaneously. I'm so glad I didn't screw up the surprise by sending the wrong information or question to the wrong person. Instead, of course I painted an original piece for them. I was thrilled to see her reaction (he even taped it for me). It meant so much as an artist (and friend).
