En La Cocina Print Now Available

Measuring 48" x 60", En la Cocina is one of my largest  pieces. It is also one of my favorites, depicting my childhood home and the three pivotal women in my life. While many have shared my enthusiasm for this painting, not everyone has the available space or budget for the original. If you love this painting, you can now own a limited edition giclee print. It is available in 4 sizes in prices ranging from $55 to $195. Get yours from Latin Pop Shop on Etsy.

(Mostly) Junk Food Journal

Here's a sneak peek at one of the interactive pieces for the Have a Heart Project. The completed piece will be a diptych (Mary and I are creating our own simultaneously). The collage elements are made up of the packaging (wrappers, boxes, bags, etc.) that contained the (mostly) junk food we've consumed at the studio from the time we began putting together this exhibit. The pieces will become public journals onto which visitors will be able to write about their own relationships with junk food (why they eat it, why they don't, how it makes them feel...).

Garden Geekery

The garden is beginning to yield great organic home-grown goodies!

Last night we had our first zucchini squash of the season tossed with some freshly picked greens in a light vinaigrette. Every time I pick something I've grown from seed (or seedling) and bring it into my kitchen I feel all giddy and proud inside.

I do realize that this makes me a big geek.

I can't get enough box!

NO! Not that!
I'm appalled, y'all are just filthy.

I did it again...last night.

It's my third or fourth time in a month.

I know you can't see me but I've bowed my head in shame for this post.

My friends are all making fun of me.

But I just can't get enough!

When was the last time you could eat till you were ready to puke for FIVE BUCKS???

I'm sure I've rotted half of my insides off with this crap.

I NEED AN INTERVENTION!
